Three arrests in the Lauric Lebato murder investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of student Lauric Lebato in Leicester city centre at the weekend have arrested three men.

The men, two aged 20 and a 19-year-old, were arrested in Kent on Tuesday and taken into custody.

Leicestershire Police said one of the 20-year-olds was arrested on suspicion of murder.

The others were detained on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon and of violent disorder.

Lauric, 22 and from Finsbury Park, London, died after he sustained a fatal stab wound in Albion Street, Leicester, during the early hours of Saturday.

Detectives believe he had been at a student party in a nearby flat where he had become involved in an altercation which spilled out in to the street.

The aspiring fashion designer was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary where he later died.

Earlier this week, Lauric’s father, Tagbeu said: “Lauric was the first person in my life – the centre of it – and was so very, very, important to me.

“The police are working incredibly hard to find who killed my son and I trust them implicitly. If someone knows what happened to him they must tell the police.”

Police continue to urge witnesses to come forward. Contact Leicestershire Police on 101.
